Up until 6th April 1978 if a woman married an ex serviceman and he subsequentially died she was not entitled to any portion of his pension, simply because she had married him after he had completed his service to his country, regardless of any children that may have resulted from that union. The half pension that she was due simply disapeared into the treasury. It is now time to rectify this injustice any pay the half pensions these, now ageing widows, are due.
