We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Remove the need for the RNLI and Lifesaving Clubs to Pay VAT on Equipment Intended to Provide Rescue Services at Sea. More details

Currently Charities have to pay VAT on certain equipment that is used to provide a rescue service at Sea. Lifeboats and vessels are VAT excempt but Rescue Boards, Rescue Tubes, Signage, Trailers, Resuscitaton Equipment all need to have VAT paid on them. This is unfair given that charities are raising funds to provide a rescue service and a proportion of their fundraising is then consumed by VAT.
