* Croydon Council are proposing to make Haling Manor into a Harris Academy and Ashburton Junior, Infants and Secondary Schools into an Oasis Academy. * Haling Manor was recently praised by Jim Knight for its achievement putting it into the top 3% in terms of CVA. * Croydon Council have consistently delayed giving information to parents and the wider community. * They have refused to respond to challenges which factually question their statements. * Details of the public meetings were only released 4 weeks into the statutory consultation period. * At the public meetings, parents and the public were restricted to asking questions. * Time was not allowed for everyone to ask questions * Both Croydon Council and sponsors wrongly challenged facts given by opposers of the scheme, implying that they were lying. * By controlling the format of the meeting, denying a voice for opposition and deliberately issuing disinformation, the Council has denied parents a choice.
