E-Petitions

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to facilitate a change in electoral law to allow a photograph of a candidate on an election ballot paper should the candidate concerned request it. We believe this will aid democracy and decrease the opportunity for unnecessary confusion. More details

More details from petition creator

We believe that government should enable our electoral system to operate in a more open way in the interests of democracy. We believe adding a further identifier to ballot forms in the form of photographs would be one small but significant step towards removing unnecessary confusion - e.g. in the case of candidates and parties with similar names, or where there may be multiple independents.
