It should be illegal to refer to yourself as "Doctor" in a professional sense or for commercial advantage if you do not hold a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) in a relevant subject from an officially accredited university. However, we believe it is acceptable to call yourself "Doctor" in a non-professional sense, for example in popular music.
