Dear Prime Minister,

I would respectfully request that you act on behalf of all those desperate to see nationally important sporting events on terrestrial television.

Far too many events including the latest Murray / Federer US Open final are swallowed up by a subscription only service such as Sky or Setanta. The number of these events on these channels is ever increasing and in my opinion has a detrimental effect on our nation pride and identity.

I believe it is the right of every UK citizen to watch their national heroes and sporting events on freely available channels such as BBC or ITV.

There is no doubt in my mind that not all of us can afford these sports subscriptions and therefore unnecessarily miss out on what is without a doubt a cultural and personal must!
