No one can say that Scottish News is boring- the Dundee Courier with its stories about digger rampages, semi-naked people clinging to drainpipes while under siege from the police proves this. But when the BBC by its own admission, as well as pointed out by numerous academics, does not serve Scotland, or Wales or Northern Ireland for that matter, effectively or fairly, is it not time to allow Scots to control the programming to see a more interesting, relevant content?
The programm Eorpa, for example, while in Gaelic, still attracts many, many more viewers outside this medium due to ite relevant, high quality reporting. Gaelic broadcasting is effectively devolved. It would be a good thing, for Scottish mainstream programming to recieve the same treatment.
