We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to give parity to conservatoire theatre training in Scotland to those found in England. More details

Given the recent announcement of discontinuing training in acting and stage management at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, we, the undersigned, call on the Prime Minister to ensure that there is a parity in conservatoire training allowances for theatre between Scotland and the rest of the UK.
It is an untenable position as theatre and creative industries in general continue to grow with fewer opportunities to train effectively in Scotland, creating an imbalance in the national representation of the arts.
The allowances made for conservatoire training in England ought to be applied to the Scottish training system and prevent the loss of excellent training such as offered at QMU.
It would be a noble act for the UK Government to show parity at this precarious time.
