The hugely inflated cost of housing, both owned and rented, is damaging our country's social structure and economy more than almost any other factor (with the possible exception of over-population, to which it is related). An uncontrolled "House Price Crash" is an inevitability if measures are not taken to encourage a controlled decline. It appears at present that successive Governments have actually encouraged housing price inflation and, consequently, greatly increased personal debt and all the ills that arise from that. Who wants un-affordable housing?
