At present, thousands of people are going through the process of reclaiming illegal bank charges. The OFT, a body set up to protect the consumer, has now agreed with seven major banks, to allow a freeze of ongoing claims until the issue is decided by a test case in the high court.
As the charges are illegal, anyone who has been charged should be able claim them back now, rather than wait months or years for a ruling by the High Court.
