We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to enable recognition of ADHD as an illness in Adults, and ensure the NHS to be more aware and able to diagnose it. More details

More and more studies are showing the understanding and acceptance of ADHD in Adults, as well as children.
However, the current NHS system fails to be able to accept, refer and diagnose patients in any humane timescale.
This is coupled with the lack of associated support for suffers and their familes, and education for employers to assist effected employees.
A system in the NHS whereby trained and interested experts who can diagnose this illness in adults, AND prescribe any medication that has been shown to assist in managing symptoms of the illness, should be easily prescribable to patients.
Suffers and their families are having to suffer in silence and lose so much that is good in their lives due to their condition, before discovery and treatment of the condition is made.
This must end
