This argument is not only put forward by anglers, it is also an argument given by ecologists. Commercial fishermen have been seen very close in to shore with nets cast. This is very damaging to the ecosystem, damaging spawning grounds which provide food for allsorts of sea birds which are becoming a rare site. Let the sea recover.
